Why did th gods wanted to eat from this tree?
The gods had a big problem. They didn't had the knowledge in deciding who lived and who died. Every time they tried to help an animal, at the same time they end up killing a diffrent one. So no matter what desicion they maked they could nevr end up favoring all the animals at the same time. Thats why they decided to go and look for the tree of knowledge. So they could have the knowledge of who died and who lived.

This is an intriguing quote. I would think that the "Gods" would already have this knowledge but apparantly they did not.
