QQC # 4

"You've got to take your lives into your own hands."

What is the narrator trying to say?

He is trying to say that men should not depend on the gods. Man should start planting his own food. There would be no diffrence if man or the gods planted the food. Food will always be food. The gods always plant what you need, but if you plant more than you need. When the gods decide to take out the food and decide you to go hungry. You will not be hungry anymore for the food you'd saved and the gods will stop having power over you. You will start having your life in your own hands.

QQC # 3

"Let's find that tree and eat of it and see what this knowledge is."

Why did th gods wanted to eat from this tree?

The gods had a big problem. They didn't had the knowledge in deciding who lived and who died. Every time they tried to help an animal, at the same time they end up killing a diffrent one. So no matter what desicion they maked they could nevr end up favoring all the animals at the same time. Thats why they decided to go and look for the tree of knowledge. So they could have the knowledge of who died and who lived.

What bad things do you think are happening in the world?
There are many wars in the world, there is a lot of contamintion and the plant is overheating because of global warming.
Why do you think this things are happening?
Because we let them happen and we never do anything about it. Many people don't really realize what is really happening.
What can you do to prevent this things?
Well, I don't think i can do much about war. I think there is alot we can do about global warming. For example: we can stop using too much our cars and get a carpool or use the bus. We can stop polluting the planet, by not throwing trash in the ocean and land. Find a way so the manufactures don't produce too much smoke.
What is the society doing about this?
I think many people are trying to do something about it, but unfourtunely its the minority. Many of the people don't do a lot because they do not know whats happening, they are not inform of what can really happen and the consequences.
Do you think more people would do something about this if they really knew what was happening?
Yes, many more people would try to do something and things would be very different.

"You know, like your creation myth, if you have one." "What is a creation myth?" the creature asked. "oh, you know," the anthropologist replied, "the fanciful tale you tell your children about the origins of the world."

What does the anthropologist wants to prove with this?

When the jellyfish was asked this question, the jellyfish began to explain that the world started billions years ago. That the solar system and the stars came later and billions years later, microorganisms started. Little by little more complex forms appeared: single-celled creatures, slimes, algae, polyps, and finally jellyfish appeared.
When the man was asked the same question, he said the same thing but more evolved. That after jellyfish, amphibians, then reptiles, mammals and finally man. So this shows that they are all myths because everyone has a different point of view. Everyone believes what they've been told. So this proves they all may be wrong. This leaves us with the wonder on how the world really started and if there's something superior the human race.

The story of man.... beginning of time to now

There are many theories about the creation of men. I am catholic so I believe that God created us. God created everything in the world. He created the oceans, the land, the plants. When everything was done he created the men.

The stranger hadn't said, "Your name is not Goliath." He had said, "You are not Goliath."

Who was the man and why did he said this?

The man was a wealthy Jewish merchant. His name was Walter Sokolow. His family was killed by the Nazis. One day he came to the menagerie were the gorilla was and the man stared at the gorillas eyes and said that he was not goliath. So when the man left; the gorilla started wondering why did the man said this? One day the man approach to the wagon where the gorilla was. The man thought that perhaps a gorilla named goliath was an apt symbol for the Nazi giant that was then engaged in crushing the race of David. The man realized that the gorilla had no relation to the bloodthirsty monster in the painting. So by seeing the gorilla in the eyes he knew the gorilla was diffrent and that he couldn't be goliath.
